We are looking to fill a key Product Development role within our Design team that supports our onshore and offshore production of our inhouse bird brands. A focus of this role will be the product development support of our Boho Bird range. The technical side of this role will ignite the passion of a true technical Product Developer, who loves the nuts and bolts of putting a garment together, as well as managing supplier partnerships through fluid and transparent communication. An understanding of industry commerciality and enthusiasm for time management and working within deadlines will be crucial in the success of this role. Graduates with product development experience are encouraged to apply, and candidates with previous technical garment industry roles experience and an understanding of pattern making experience will be highly regarded.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
- Day to day support to our inhouse brands with their range placement
- Interpreting garment handover notes from the brand managers
- Creation and set up of garment specifications
- Measuring samples
- Sketching and digital illustration of manufacturing technical drawings
- Process approval and fit comments directly to onshore and offshore suppliers in a clear and precise manner
- Creatively selecting colours and preparing recolouring information
- Liaise with a range of internal departments
- Maintain up to date records and standards and data entry
- General quality control activities
- Checking invoices for correct prices and quantities
- General admin, labelling, barcode and PPO creation
- Assisting with the sample filing and storage process
- Updating a weekly master delivery summary and running a WIP document
The successful candidate must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Fashion or Textiles or industry experience
- Experience within a design team or buying office would be highly regarded
- Exemplary time management
- Fabric Knowledge
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and experience with internal PLM systems
- Sound technical knowledge to communicate accurate garment construction, fit, pattern, print and textiles approvals
- Flexibility to adapt between design support, production, garment tech, administration and logistics
- Confident to work autonomously on tasks
- An understanding of pattern-making and garment construction
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- The ability to multitask while working within a fast paced environment
- The ability to problem solve and offer solutions to resolve a range of considerations
- Attention to detail
- A curious and open mind, with a strong desire to learn and acquire knowledge
