Generation Outcast Clothing is one of Australia's fastest growing online fashion companies, exclusively designing the hottest new styles and setting trends in the market. Based in Mermaid Waters Australia, we’re looking for a highly motivated, creative, and forward thinking Garment Technician to join our product and design team.
This role will be a well rounded roll with an emphasis on assisting our design and production team from start to finish on a product.
Key responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for creating tech packs for our designers
- Assisting the design team in fittings
- Responsible for measuring in all styles before fittings to ensure that comments were followed
- Assisting the design team in fittings to make sure all relevant comments are made and the pattern can be adjusted to achieve the desired effect.
- You will need to develop technical packs which include but are not limited to size specifications, fit comments, annotations, tolerance and grading rules, fabric and trim details.
- Quality control of sample garments and bulk production.
- We will use your technical knowledge to help check finishes and measure samples to ensure the final best fit.
- Communicate with our suppliers and factories in China in regards to all things part of the design process.
- Maintain fit, construction, and workmanship standards to ensure consistency across all factories
- Quality control over trims, garment woven labels, swing tags and packaging of styles.
- Follow up with suppliers regularly to ensure critical pathway management is kept on track and deadlines are met on time.
- Ensure any fit comments are sent to supplier from ff through to final inspection for your styles
- Administration support; updating the design and production tracker
About You:
- Minimum 2+ years experience working in a garment tech role
- Must have illustrator skills and be able to sketch a technical drawing of a style
- Tertiary qualifications in fashion, design, pattern making or related fields
- Demonstrated understanding of garment development processes
- Proficient in Gmail
- High level computer skills, Adobe Creative Suite is preferable
- CAD pattern making experience is highly desired
- Excellent communication skill
