GenesisCare now has an opportunity for a highly experienced legal professional to join our team in the role of Head of Legal, Australia. This role provides strategic and commercially focussed legal advice and support to our business and strategic initiatives.
The Head of Legal, Australia will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters across GenesisCare’s Australian business, providing strategic legal advice, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
On offer is a full-time position, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer Australia.
More specifically, you will:
- Provide legal support for the strategic and commercial objectives and outcomes across a range of corporate disciplines – both transactional and operational (including M&A, strategy, contracts, employment, litigation and dispute resolution).
- Ensure that relevant issues are elevated and escalated to the CEO in a timely manner.
- Work with the Executive Leadership Team to drive improvement and growth and ensure a best-in-class legal and compliance function.
- Build and sustain a highly effective, collaborative team to deliver high quality legal services in a timely manner.
- Provide regulatory advice and support in implementing compliance initiatives.
- Engage and supervise external legal services providers.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Legal practice experience 10+ years.
- Extensive top-tier firm or blue chip corporate legal practice experience, including in corporate law, corporate governance, M&A, joint ventures, commercial contracts and advisory.
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
- Qualified to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner.
- Excellent technical legal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver commercial and fit-for-purpose legal advice on a wide range of issues.
- Demonstrated ability in both internal and external stakeholder management.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise matters in line with strategic priorities of the business.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity and strength to express their views.
