General Fitter/ Drill Fitter/Mechanical Fitter

On behalf of our client (Mineral Resources), we are advertising. Mineral Resources is looking for General Fitter/ Drill Fitter/Mechanical Fitter to join their team based across Western Australia, either Pilbara or Goldfields.

PURPOSE

To execute all General, Drill, Mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring all work is conducted in a safe manner utilising quality workmanship to promote high plant availability. Fitters are responsible for executing all day-to-day maintenance activities which include the weekly scheduled work, shutdown maintenance and breakdown activities. Fitters will follow all company procedures and work closely with operations and maintenance departments to promote efficient plant operation.

DELIVERABLES – TECHINCAL & OPERATIONAL

• Execute maintenance activities as directed by the Supervisor

• Ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner following all company safety and isolation procedures

• Respond to breakdown activities ensuring plant is returned to an operational status as efficiently as possible

• Complete any statutory work as per regulatory requirements

• Conduct fault finding activities as required for all defects or issues

• Execute the mechanical weekly schedule targeting a high level of schedule compliance

• Develop quality and accurate Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for relevant activities

• Raise detailed work requests for defects to promote effective planning activities

• Collaborate with the planning team to ensure preventative strategies deliver high levels of reliability for equipment

• Accurately report issues to the Supervisor to support decision making processes

• Escalate any issues in a timely manner to promote efficient responses

• Accurately record all parts usage in the company systems (i.e. requisitioned) before taking them from their storage locations

• Return all tooling and equipment to the tool store in a good condition

• Identify improvement opportunities and communicate them to the Supervisor

• Ensure all work on classified plant is communicated to the statutory position holders

• Manage work priorities in consultation with the Supervisor to ensure safety and production are at the forefront of decision-making activities

• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities to improve overall equipment performance

• Interface with MRL engineering services to incorporate upgrades and improvements in the maintenance plan, including ramp-up punch list and completion works

Qualifications

• Valid C Class driver’s licence

• Trade background and competency certificates in mechanical fitting

• Rigging, Forklift & EWP High Risk Work License

• CN crane ticket, C6 (desirable)

Experience

• Experience in Microsoft Office

• Experience with Pronto (or similar systems)

• Experience with large scale processing plants

• Maintain a high standard of reporting
