General Manager

A rare opportunity has arisen at CMV Truck & Bus Derrimut to appoint a General Manager.  

Tasked with achieving profitability and growing the business, this position will oversee the day-to-day operations as well as manage a growing team of sales, workshop and parts staff.  You will be required to use your highly developed inter-personal skills to effectively manage key relationships with customers, suppliers, manufacturers and importantly staff to maximise the potential of all components of the business.

Every day will be different, your key duties and activities will include:

• Establishing a professional relationship with staff
• Leading, motivating and supporting all employees to achieve defined business objectives
• Engage in business community activities with the aim of building local relationships and growing business activity within the area
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with franchise representatives
• Taking ultimate responsibility for the handling of customer concerns ensuring prompt and effective resolution and customer satisfaction
• Managing and monitoring inventory and financial records
• Responsible to set and maintain KPI within each department
• Develop and execute strategic projects with executive team
• Ensure regular staff performance reviews are conducted and training & development provided as appropriate

What we are looking for

• An experienced and professional Business Manager with a track record of successfully operating a business with a sound understanding of the heavy trucking industry
• Previous experience in a senior management role would be an advantage
• A driven leader with a strong commitment to building a positive team culture & engagement
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• High level of professionalism and business acumen.
• Excellent negotiation and people management skills
• Ability to build sound relationships
