Join Star Building Management Services, an integral part of the SSKB group, renowned for our expertise in facilities management and building management consulting & compliance. We're currently seeking a proactive General Manager to lead our facilities management and consulting teams, prioritising innovation, and excellence in asset protection.
The Position
We are looking for an energetic leader with experience in building management, safety compliance, and consulting related activities who has a high level of client and customer service, is highly organised along with a passion to take ownership, drive initiatives and invoke change when needed.
You will oversee a multidisciplined team, each responsible for managing their own portfolio of buildings and services.
Your accountabilities will include:
Business unit management:
- Team management and motivation
- Team support
- Goal setting
- Change management
- Maximising revenue and minimising expenses
- Streamline workflows
- Liaise with the executive team and participe in the achievement of broader organisational goals
- Business reporting
Facilities / Building Management Supervision and Activity
- Preventative and reactive hard and soft services maintenance
- Management of maintenance data and schedules
- Manage all maintenance matters and maintain logbooks, registers etc.
- Manage all facility building data, plans etc
- Ensure statutory compliance
- Sub-contractor management
- Ensure all sub-contract information is up-to-date and accurate
- Manage filing and archiving systems
- Attend site inspections and body corporate / client meetings (as required)
Building Consulting Supervision and Activity
- Safety and compliance consulting
- Fire safety compliance consulting
- Building insurance valuation
- Broader building management scheduling
About You
You will demonstrate innovation and exceptional leadership skills to effectively guide and inspire your team towards success. You will also have:
- Strata experience (preferred)
- Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent computer literacy within Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a quick ability to learn in-house databases.
- Project management experience
- Hold a Certificate VI in WH&S (preferred)
- Fire safety adviser (QLD) certification (preferred)
- Own vehicle desirable – local travel (Southeast Queensland) required.
