Our Company is looking for an experienced General Manager to control and oversee all business operations, people, and ventures and will be responsible for the overall success of the business.
The ideal candidate should be a successful senior leader with an entrepreneurial mindset in the retail industry. Your differentiators will have a proven track record of growing a business, managing a detailed and complex profit and loss statement, having knowledge of both retail and wholesale, corporate and franchise stores, leading from the front as a true people leader, and driving a culture of high performance and outcomes. Capable of driving profitability while aligning with the company's vision, mission, and long-term objectives.
The goal is to ensure that the company stays on track to meet its short- and long-term goals while adhering to its strategic guidelines.
Because you will collaborate with numerous leaders within the organisation, the General Manager will possess exceptional leadership abilities. Strong document writing skills, which are indispensable when juggling a variety of tasks, and exceptional empathy or social skills would enable you to foster positive relationships between clients and employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders.
- Provide strategic advice to the board and chairperson so that they will have an accurate view of the market and the company’s future.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities.
- Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners, and authorities.
- Oversee the company’s financial performance, investments, and other business ventures.
- Read all submitted reports by lower-ranking managers to reward performance, prevent issues, and resolve problems.
- Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as a General Manager or other managerial position.
- Demonstrated experience in developing strategic and business plans.
- Accept accountability for company operations when dealing with the board and shareholders
- Negotiate with clients and stakeholders on behalf of the company.
- Allocate financial resources to implement cost-effective policies and programs.
- Prepare the company’s annual report and budget for board review and approval.
- Update board members regarding developments within the company and industry.
- Monitor the company's progress against plans to ensure it meets its objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance and advice to board members.
- Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
- Manages company resources and assets.
- Track spending, revenue, and costs compared to the annual budget.
