The General Manager Asset Planning and Support role is the key Asset Planning and Support role for the MMG group of Assets. Leading our team of Technical experts this role, this role provides an opportunity for an experienced operational General Manager to influence and collaborate with Assets to ensure high performance across the group. 

Through the establishment of strong relationships this role will work side by side the MMG Assets to;

• Provide Integrated Business Planning process and technical support to operating Assets in the development of Asset Strategic Development and Business Plans to support MMG’s sustainable growth strategy.
• Provide technical support and advice to Assets where required to assist in meeting business plans and address specific technical issues.  Technical and Operating support includes the areas of:   Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, Asset Management, Tailings and Water Management and Mine Closure.
• Develop fit for purpose MMG level Standards to ensure compliance with MMG External technical legal requirements and the sustainable control of common MMG material technical risks and supporting assets in meeting expectations where required.
• Lead the development of MMG’s technical capability across all Assets.
• Provide technical support to MMG growth projects.

To be successful in this key role the following skills will be required;

• An advanced capability to communicate strategic messages to direct team and all levels of the workforce, building a positive culture through open and effective communication.
• The ability to interpret trends within the entire Mining Value chain being able to identify opportunities to expand the portfolio in line with the MMG Strategy
• The ability to generate good relationships with Asset leadership and influence improvement opportunities.
• An expert level of team management, ability to communicate the MMG strategy to all levels and empowerment of team to execute strategy.
• Operational and international experience at the General Management level is highly desirable.
