In your role, you will

  • Be responsible for the operation of Bombardier Aerospace Australia Service Centre, including profitability and growth, development and implementation of company policies and procedures to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction whilst maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Rules
  • Lead the management and development of a workforce
  • Plan and coordinate activities of the Bombardier Aerospace Australia Service Centre
  • Develop long and short-term service centre goals and objectives
  • Monitor the performance of the service centre to ensure Bombardier Aerospace Australia objectives are achieved, profitability is maximized, and customer satisfaction is maintained
  • Monitor technical performance of service center and recommend changes, which enhance service and profitability
  • Coordinate vendor agreements which supports the service center operations technically and financially
  • Coordinate resolution of requests for changes in personnel, policies and procedures as required
  • Develop achievable budgetary goals to achieve maximum profits, maximum utilization, and maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Review the annual service center budget, ensuring that all related budgetary requirements have been met
  • Approve and recommend major service centre purchases by coordinating with service center personnel
  • Inform and coordinate with management to keep them informed of the service center operations
  • Consult and coordinate with peers, in such areas as product support, finance, purchasing, programs, marketing, field service and engineering
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments, customers, vendors, and operators to improve overall program
  • Develop and promote recognized service centre programs

As our ideal candidate

  • 10+ years management experience in the Aerospace Industry, with a minimum 7 years experience at a Director level, managing a customer service work force, in a regulated environment
  • Working knowledge of CASA and FAA.
  • Eligible to take on the roles and responsibilities of a Company Director for Bombardier Aerospace Australia Pty Ltd
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Have the ability to effectively lead a team, have high emotional intelligence with interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong motivation for success, ability to problem solve with a resilient attitude
  • Proven expertise in planning, organising and implementing change
  • Ability to handle pressure and navigate obstacles
  • Have a safety mindset ensuring all employees go home safely

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application (e.g., Six Sigma)
  • Working knowledge of accounting and budgeting principals necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, financial reports, and meet financial objectives for assigned area and programs
  • Working knowledge of process and controls required in the performance of aircraft maintenance
  • Computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, email, and web-based applications
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Business writing skills necessary to create various reports and correspondence
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations
  • Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of management
  • Ability to create and foster a positive work environment
