General Manager Hseq - Major Projects

John Holland's Major Projects division is currently constructing some of Australia's most complex infrastructure projects, including Kidson Pumped Hydro, M7-M12 Integration, Westgate Tunnel and Melbourne Metro (CYP). With Tunnelling and Energy forming part of this business unit, there is a healthy pipeline of Major Projects John Holland are pursuing around Australia.

We are currently seeking a General Manager Health, Sustainability, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Major Projects to be based in Sydney (ideally, but would consider other locations). Reporting to the EGM for Major Projects, this role is accountable for the following:

• Providing operational direction, support and oversight of all aspects of health, wellbeing, safety, environment, sustainability and quality
• Leading and managing the implementation of HSEQ strategies, systems and initiatives across the BU and report progress to and on behalf of the Major Projects Senior Leadership Team
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legal, regulatory and company requirements associated with HSEQ; ensuring management and staff are informed of any relevant changes and their impacts
• Developing and implementing HSEQ education, as well as compliance and improvement programs for employees, clients, contractors and visitors
• Ensuring that the Major Projects BU implements and monitors the JHG SQERM Operational Risk Management processes, capability, focus and discipline.

• Bachelors degree in Science, Safety, Environment, or other related disciplines
• 10 years HSEQ experience in construction, engineering or heavy industry fields (with major infrastructure/ heavy engineering/ road/ rail/ mining/ tunnelling and underground construction/ power and transmission highly desirable)
• Several years experience managing and leading a HSEQ function in complex and high risk industries
• Regulatory and audit knowledge
