We have an opportunity for a General Manager to join a well-established national transport and logistics business.
This role will encompass national management, day to day operations and contribute to the development and implementation of management plans, policies, and programs.
Moreover, in alignment and support with the overall business strategies and objectives to ensure the ongoing success of the business whilst maintaining a safe work and environment conformance.
Key focuses & responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that supports the company’s overall strategy and goals,
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the company, including logistics, maintenance, planning, procurement, and services.
- Develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts for operations.
- Ensure quality and service levels are at the required standards.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs through CI, OPEX and CAPEX opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Monitor and report on KPI’s and Projects at the required frequency.
- Build, foster and coach the team to create a high-performance culture.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field would be preferred but not essential (e.g. Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management)
- 10+ years proven management experience in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience in fast paced business environment.
- Strong financial acumen (P&L experience) and operations experience (production planning and execution)
- Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans.
- Experience building on and executing Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
- Ability to motivate and lead employees and hold them accountable.
