General Manager – Operations (National Role)

About the role
As the General Manager of operations, you will be responsible for leading and managing our cleaning and maintenance operations, nationally. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of cleaning and maintenance services to our diverse customer base. Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager, you will drive strategic initiatives and spearhead continuous improvement efforts to elevate our service standards.
Key responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Provide direction and leadership for our national cleaning and maintenance operations.
- Drive innovation and thought leadership, leveraging technology and sustainable practices to drive operational efficiency and optimisation.
- Proactively identify opportunities for expansion, diversification, and strategic partnerships driving organic growth.
- Develop client relationships at senior executive levels, addressing their evolving needs, with a strong focus on customer experience.
- Strong financial acumen - Take ownership of P&L, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Foster a world class safety culture.
- Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, financial metrics, and strategic initiatives to executive management.
What you need
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in senior leadership roles, and 10 years in operations.
- Experience in cleaning industry, facilities management, or related industries highly desirable.
- Exceptional contracts and commercial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute transformation projects.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a keen eye for emerging trends and disruptive technologies in the cleaning industry.
- High discretionary effort, ability to prioritise for self and others in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism, serving as a role model for ARA values.
