Amid the dynamic expansion in South-east Melbourne, a formidable racing entity is taking centre stage. The Cranbourne Pakenham Racing Club (CPRC) emerges from the amalgamation of the Cranbourne Turf Club and the Pakenham Racing Club.
The CPRC manages top-tier racing and training facilities at Cranbourne and Pakenham, in addition to operating three bustling 7-day-a-week hospitality and entertainment venues: Cardinia Club, Club Officer, and SILKS.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of General Manager Racing. This pivotal position involves thorough oversight of all facets of racing and training operations at the Cranbourne Pakenham Racing Club, spanning across our two exceptional racecourses.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Racing will be entrusted with leading and managing every aspect of racing and training operations.
As a vital member of the Executive Leadership team, collaboration with peers is paramount for success in this role.
Key accountabilities include:
- Enhance the image and reputation of racing at Cranbourne and Pakenham by providing outstanding service and commitment to all industry participants.
- Drive change and innovation in our racing product to place Cranbourne and Pakenham at the forefront of Australian racing.
- Manage and co-ordinate racing operations ensuring the running of weekly race meetings in line with the rules of Cranbourne Pakenham Racing Club, and the race-day procedural guidelines.
- Coordinate trial sessions to ensure participants are adequately catered for and the Club receives maximum return for the outlay on staff and equipment costs.
- Develop new racing products and enhance existing products to build greater customer engagement, participation, and revenue opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a strong, diverse, high-performance culture within the business through impactful leadership, proficient management and continuous development.
The right applicant will have significant experience in racing and will look at ways to grow and improve our racing and training activities and ensure we remain leaders in the Racing Industry.
Some of the essential criteria include:
- Tertiary qualification in Management or Business Administration.
- 5 years’ experience in Senior Management or Business Administration.
- Strong understanding of the Victorian Racing Industry and Rules of Racing.
- Strong administrative skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently.
