Bindaree Food Group (BFG) is a vertically integrated supply chain business delivering global meat solutions both domestically and internationally and has solidified its position as a prominent leader in the Australian meat industry.
We are looking for a dynamic and influential professional that is well versed in the beef industry to join our team as the General Manager of Sales & Marketing. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will lead the Sales, Shipping and Export teams in the creation of sustainable long-term growth and distribution of our high quality products in domestic and international markets.
While we have a preference for the role to be based in Sydney or Brisbane, we are open to discussing where this role is based and hybrid arrangements. Your team (of up to 8 direct, 4 indirect reports) are based in Brisbane, Sydney and internationally so regular travel to be with your stakeholders, team and key customers is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying domestic and international new business and sales opportunities, inclusive of sales strategies, market opportunities, business plans led through consumer insights.
- Maintaining a collaborative working relationship with customers to drive improved engagement, efficiency and negotiating value creation for both parties.
- Engaging with customers on actionable insights, category performance and other key metrics to drive joint business growth.
- Promoting and taking action to embed a high-performance team culture including setting the vision for the team and distilling this into individual objectives.
- Managing & analysing sales forecasting and own collaboration between customer and our own demand planning teams.
- Working in partnership with cross functional teams to ensure best in market product is presented at tender and maintained throughout our supply partnerships

- You have proven sales leadership experience in the red meat industry
- You can comfortably lead a high performing team while balancing the demands of strategy senior level position
- You have outstanding negotiating skills gained in a similarly senior position
- Your commercial acumen is sharp, with a deep understanding of P&L drivers
- You are self-motivated and proactive, with a high level of initiative and commitment to drive and achieve results
- Your analytical and problem-solving skills are very strong and you have the ability to forecast and interpret sales data and make informed decisions
- You have the flexibility to manage the demands of an international team and are able to regularly travel both domestically and internationally
