Our client, a prominent player in the built form consulting industry, and is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic General Manager (GM) to join their Victorian Leadership Team in Melbourne. With a focus on operational excellence and strategic planning, this role offers an exciting opportunity to drive business growth and foster collaboration within a supportive environment.
As the General Manager VIC, you will be a pivotal member of the Victorian Leadership Team, responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of operations in Victoria. Reporting to the VIC SLT and COO, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategic plans, setting and administering budgets, and ensuring operational excellence in line with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Business Plan: - Collaborate with the VIC SLT to develop and implement the VIC Business Plan aligned with the company's Strategy 2027.
- Establish clear actions and accountability for plan delivery, monitoring progress, and reporting.
Financial Performance:
- Develop and deliver VIC's capital and operating budgets in coordination with the VIC SLT.
- Prepare operational reports for performance monitoring and develop corrective actions as needed.
Day to Day Operations:
- Provide leadership and management to ensure operational controls and procedures are in place for sustainable business growth.
- Manage administrative support services and ensure adherence to company standards for quality and compliance.
People Management:
- Recruit and develop talented individuals to support client requirements and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Provide guidance and feedback to strengthen leadership skills and support staff development.
Clients & Stakeholder Management:
- Support VIC Directors in project resourcing and client engagement, ensuring delivery consistency and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes for the business.
Productivity & Innovation:
- Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance work efficiency and capability.
- Drive the implementation of digital technologies to improve service offerings and work methods.
Facilities Management:
- Manage leasehold arrangements for VIC offices and oversee facility management and support service arrangements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, law, commerce, or relevant field.
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles within medium-large private sector businesses.
- Strong understanding of business planning, execution strategies, and digital technologies.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks, diagnose problems, and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification such as MBA.
- Change management experience.
- Conceptual understanding of contract law and pricing.
