The successful candidate will ensure the effective, efficient development and provision of genomic based consultation and high level advice, reports and scientific data on aspects of genomic epidemiological analyses of Public Health microbiology/virology to internal, local, state and national clients, to support routine state and national surveillance systems of notifiable diseases and to deliver genomics analysis and interpretation around specific epidemiological investigations. Key competencies (role specific criteria) You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following: High level of knowledge and skills in the application of genomics and the subsequent interpretation and integration with epidemiology in public health surveillance and outbreak investigations for notifiable and emerging bacterial and viral pathogens. Ability to provide authoritative advice and counsel in matters relating to public health genomic epidemiology to stakeholders at a local, state and national level.
