The Opportunity
Step into the role of Genomics Facility Manager at the Central Clinical School - Monash Genomics & Bioinformatics Platform! You'll lead the charge in overseeing and optimizing next-generation sequencing (NGS) equipment, including Mini-seq, Next-seq 500, and Nova-seq 6000, housed within our top-tier laboratory at ARA. Your core responsibilities span from NGS library preparation to steering molecular biology experiments relevant to NGS, all while working closely with our esteemed researchers. Guide a team, advise on project design and analysis, and handle financial management intricacies — all in collaboration with the Bioinformatics Platform team.
Reporting directly to the School Manager and with oversight from the Facility Scientific Director and the Director of Genomics and Bioinformatics Platform, this role offers a chance to spearhead impactful genomics research and drive the facility's success.
We're seeking a visionary mind equipped with postgraduate qualifications or substantial experience in the field. Your expertise will shape the strategic and operational planning crucial to achieving both facility and university goals. Moreover, your guidance will elevate junior staff, optimize instrument utilization, team development, ensuring operational excellence, and driving program outcomes. Your influence will extend beyond our walls, as you collaborate with stakeholders, offer technical advice, and explore collaborative opportunities with industry, government, and the broader community.
Diversity is one of our greatest strengths at Monash. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disabilities, neurodiverse people, and people of all genders, sexualities, and age groups.
