The Opportunity

The Bakers Delight Property department are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic State Property Manager to join the team.
Based in Camberwell and reporting to the Head of Property, this position will be accountable for researching and securing new sites, day to day portfolio management, lease renewals and ensuring the property database is up to date and accurate at all times.
This is a fast-paced, highly regarded role within our organisation, where no two days are the same. We are seeking someone who has strong knowledge of lease legislation and retail leases, exemplary negotiation skills and proven experience influencing key internal and external stakeholders such as Franchisees and Landlord representatives. Franchising experience and a Property or Business tertiary qualification are highly regarded but not essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiate lease terms including refurbishment works - securing lease tenure within Bakers Delight parameters;
- Secure new sites and obtain final approval from the management group;
- Instruct the Projects team regarding new sites, relocations, and refurbishments;
- Ensure the property database is accurate and up to date at all times;
- Support Franchisees and resolve property/lease issues promptly;
- Property Administration to support the Franchising team; and
- Manage the surrender and end of lease process.

We’re looking for someone who is a great communicator, is comfortable managing multiple tasks at once, and has a passion for negotiation.
Proven experience in a similar role will be highly regarded or perhaps you want a change of pace from working with Landlords. The ideal candidate will be able to tailor their communication between landlords, franchisees, and operations. They’ll understand the industry and what fair market value is and won’t be afraid to negotiate for the best deal possible. They will also have:
- An eye for detail, able to analyse data and develop reports.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to negotiate and liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Thorough knowledge of the retail industry and relevant lease legislation.
- The ability to manage and navigate complex situations.
- Confident in all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Franchising experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
