About the role
We have an immediate need for a Genotyping Laboratory Technician, the role is ideally suited for a recent graduate with a passion for molecular biology and genetics or someone with considerable lab experience in the area. We are looking for someone with attention to detail who can work independently and as part of a team.
The technician will work with the Genotyping Operations Manager and other Laboratory Assistants/Technicians to complete a variety of genomic service projects for customers.
Essential Skills, Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Directly assist the Genotyping Operations Manager manage day to day activities
- Manage schedules of samples and equipment related to the sample volumes and special projects to ensure timely and accurate data delivery of the highest quality
- Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of molecular biology techniques
- Ability to learn quickly and operate genotyping lab equipment independently
- Assists in producing documentation for training and audit compliance
- As required, able to learn new techniques and skills to assist in other operations
- Assists in controlling of laboratory supply inventories to balance supply volumes reflective of sample volumes while carrying minimum excess
- Works with Quality Control Scientist to support ISO procedures including development, documentation and execution
- Effectively investigates and resolves problems in a timely and efficient manner

Skills and Experience
Bacherlor's degree from University in Applied Science, Science, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biology or related field; laboratory experience required.
