The Governance Officer supports the implementation and management of the suite of ethics, compliance, and risk management policies, strategies and governance processes for NSW Trustee and Guardian; delivering advice support and training on ethical conduct and appropriate workplace behaviours and promotes a culture of effective governance.
Key accountabilities
• Provide advice to staff on diverse corporate governance issues including the application of relevant statutory requirements, Government policy, ethics, conduct, risk management, compliance, and governance best practice.
• Promote a culture of effective governance by delivering training and other learning resources aimed at improving knowledge and assisting managers
• Review and process internal reports, allegations and related disclosures, including undertaking investigations, review and assessing public interest disclosures
• Maintain, Analyse, record governance information and data and prepare management reports, including reports on compliance and fraud and corruption issues.
Undertake reviews, draft and maintain the suite of ethics, compliance, risk management and other governance policies and procedures.
• Support the delivery of the enterprise risk management framework and the internal audit function, including maintaining risk registers and providing advice on fraud and corruption risks.
• Provide secretariat support to the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) including preparation of agendas, minutes and the coordination and quality review of papers.
• Support the functional and administrative operation of other governance and compliance processes, as required.
