The Role:
An opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join the team at Northern Health, working within the multidisciplinary Early Stroke Discharge Program (ESD). This program helps patients with stroke return home earlier by providing rehabilitation within the patient's home environment or closest Northern Health site (Bundoora, Broadmaedows or Craigieburn). The service focusses on coordinated, goal orientated, multidisciplinary care.
This position is primarily based at Bundoora Centre.

The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist in this role will demonstrate expertise in the area of stroke and work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence based occupational therapy services through competent clinical skills in assessment, goal setting, intervention/rehabilitation and discharge planning. They will ensure excellence in client centred care, service improvement and risk management.
The role will work closely with the community rehabilitation teams, and support clients post discharge from an inpatient stroke admission.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of a stroke caseload including assessment and intervention skills.
- Proven ability to work well and excel within a multidisciplinary team
- An attitude toward life-long learning
- A keen interest in the supervision of students to support their growth and development
