Position Overview: As a Graduate Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting JSW’s finance department initially with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions. This role will provide a solid foundation in fundamental accounting processes and lay the groundwork for a career as a Chartered Accountant. Over time, the position will evolve, offering you the chance to engage in a broader spectrum of accounting responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable: Assist in processing vendor invoices and ensuring accurate and timely payments. Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies. Collaborate with internal teams to obtain necessary approvals for payments. Accounts Receivable: Support the invoicing process and ensure timely and accurate issuance of invoices. Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables. Payroll: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll in accordance with company policies. Verify timekeeping records and address any discrepancies. Support the maintenance of accurate employee records related to payroll. General Accounting: Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements. Participate in internal and external audits. Taxation Assist in the preparation of the company’s monthly business activity statements, payroll tax lodgements and other requirements. Support the preparation of the company’s annual income tax, FBT and other compliance obligations. Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and training opportunities to enhance accounting knowledge. Work closely with senior members of the finance team to expand skills and understanding of broader accounting functions. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Accounting. Knowledge of Australian taxation and corporations law, Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software.
