ABOUT THE ROLE
The Graphic Design and Marketing Officer at J.L. King & Co will play a pivotal role in integrating the brand's guidelines through the creation of compelling publications and graphics. Additionally, they will contribute to various marketing and communication initiatives, ensuring cohesive and impactful messaging across all channels.
Reporting to the Head of Products and Marketing, The Graphic Designer/Marketing Officer at J.L. King & Co will be a proactive self-starter, tasked with spearheading the implementation of the company's Graphic design initiatives across offline, digital, and social media platforms. They will also provide essential marketing and administrative support. In this capacity, they will collaborate closely with the Head of Products and Marketing and all stakeholders within JL King & Co's management team.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create customer-centric work that provides creative solutions working within each of the brand style guides.
- Design, create and present prototypes and mock-ups and test design for usability and quality.
- Responsible for developing, updating and maintain packaging and labelling including adherence to legislative requirements around food packaging, stock management, ordering and liaising with print contractors.
- Make necessary improvements to existing graphics including promotional materials, POS materials, product sleeves etc
- Produce both digital and offline assets for website, EDMs, paid social, organic social, signage and print media.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to come up with creative Graphic design concepts based on product collections, product launches, sale campaigns, and ‘business-as-usual’ marketing projects.
- Produce print catalogues and print collateral across both brands.
- Other ad hoc Graphic design duties as required.
- Drive the management of our social media pages (2 brands); including monthly content collection, creation, and curation, preparing content calendars, managing community response and social media page maintenance across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Develop and execute marketing plans and campaigns (with oversight) for both JL King & Co and Simply Tasty, including online, offline channels such as social media, email marketing, digital advertising and print. Would be working on 3-4 projects at a time.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis, to identify customer preferences, trends, and competitors' activities, and use the insights to inform marketing strategies.
- In collaboration with the marketing team and with oversight, create engaging and compelling content for websites, blogs and other marketing collateral that align with our brand identity and resonate with our target audience.
- Manage website listings and updates, some exposure to SEO, blog posts and monitoring/responding to online reviews.
- Monitor, analyse, report on and adjust campaigns according to analytics.
- Some database management & collation cross platform.
- Own an array of copywriting and copyediting tasks for online (e.g eDMs, web copy) and offline platforms (e.g. promotional materials, award submissions)
- Support the Marketing & Communications team in developing cohesive communication plans for key projects, digital initiatives, and events.
- Work with marketing team to execute expo and tradeshow appearances / displays.
- Basic photography and videography, including customer and staff profiles, food photography, how-to guides, and videos for staff.
- Create customer review presentations including running reports, collating data, designing, and developing the presentations.
- EDM and newsletter design and development, collation of information, imagery etc.,
- Maintain marketing and events calendar.
ABOUT YOU

- You are a strategic thinker that has experience in branding and advertising across print, social and digital platforms.
- You have experience using various platforms to create and manage content.
- You communicate effectively and have excellent interpersonal skills.
- You are highly organised, proactive and can manage multiple projects.
- You are able to seamlessly manage digital asset collection and files.
- You are creative with exceptional attention to detail.
- You are self-motivated and able to manage your time efficiently and meet deadlines, but also work well under pressure when required.
- You have knowledge of marketing tools, techniques, packaging guidelines and best practices.
- You can demonstrate experience in Adobe Create Suite; InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
- You can demonstrate experience in Microsoft office suite including word, excel.
- Photography skills are desirable but not a pre-requisite.
