The prestigious Club is the oldest in WA and was awarded Royal Charter in 1937. Built on less than 30 hectares the founders have left a great legacy for generations of golfers over the past 100 plus years. The golf course is built on flat terrain with narrow fairways requiring accurate placement from the tee. Being an “old style” course, the greens, in general, are small making them elusive targets, especially when the sea breeze sweeps in off the adjacent Swan River. We have a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice to join our Agronomy Department.
Greenkeeper (Sports Turf Management)

Position Overview:
As a senior member, you will work in a dedicated team committed to maintaining our high standard of course presentation. From daily maintenance tasks to major construction projects, contributing to ensuring that the Royal Perth Golf Club remains a premier destination for golf enthusiasts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine turf maintenance tasks such as mowing, bunker maintenance, course setup, fertility/pesticide applications and irrigation repairs.
- Implement integrated pest management strategies to safeguard turf health and vitality.
- Assist in course renovations, irrigation system diagnostics and repairs.
- Monitor and report course conditions as well as making recommendations for continuous improvements.
Requirements:
- Uphold Environmental Health and Safety standards throughout all operations.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to excellence, attention to detail and a passion for sports turf management.
- Flexible to work weekends on a rotating roster.
- Valid Class C drivers’ licence
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate III in sports Turf Management or working towards obtaining your qualification.
- Proven experience working with sports turf and a stable work history in the sports turf management fields.
