Position Overview:
As a Grid Connection Manager your main duties involve overseeing Grid Connection operations for the company's sustainable energy endeavours. As a Grid Connection Manager you will be the go to for all activities involving Grid Connection, technical problem solving, consept design and procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the project development team in evaluating sites from a technical standpoint, which involves assessing factors such as potential size, availability of existing infrastructure, grid capacity, and technical limitations.
- Conducting engineering assessments to optimize connection parameters, which may include voltage considerations, substation design, and other relevant factors.
- Reviewing grid studies and handling submissions with Network Service Providers (NSPs) until the Offer to Connect stage.
- Providing support during commissioning activities as projects near completion
- Leading or participating in the preparation of conceptual designs to guide planning and Grid Connection studies
- Offering technical expertise to the commercial team to understand cost implications and the consequences of commercial decisions.
- Assisting in budgeting, timeline management, and resource allocation.
- Gathering information for specialist planning consultants and reviewing their work to ensure alignment with project construction and operation plans.
- Offering technical support to the planning team as needed.
- Supporting procurement processes, including drafting documentation for selecting Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and contractors.
- Collaborating with OEMs, contractors, NSPs, and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) as required.
- Overseeing consultants and contractors to ensure the timely delivery of work packages.
Requirements:
- Experience delivering R0 and R1 packages connecting to NEM
- Experience in connecting projects to the NEM throughout the AEMO process
- Experience in applications, registration and negotiation
- Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies
- Strong understanding of AEMO's Grid Connection processes
