I'm representing a worldwide developer and owner of renewable energy assets, with an impressive portfolio already in operation within Australia. They have an excellent financial backing, and a realistic / achievable target of operational projects within the next 5 years.
About the Role:
Due to the growth of the business, we are looking for a grid connection manager to oversee the grid connection process for a range of utility scale renewable energy projects including solar farms, wind farms and BESS projects.
This role would be office based in Sydney.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the grid connection through development, construction and operation.
- Work closely with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve the best performance.
- Communicate with AEMO and Transmission Network Service Providers.
- Assist to manage the grid risk of EPC contractors.
- Conduct due diligence of new projects or potential new projects, including preparing inputs to financial models.
- Assist in negotiation of EPC contracts and Connection Agreements.
- Work safely at all times and be proactive about ensuring the Company's operations and that of its subcontractors are performed safely.
- Provide grid related advice on projects from early development stage through to operational projects and advise relevant project managers.
- Identify opportunities for business improvement and assist with that improvement.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years relevant working experience on grid connections in the National Electricity Market
- Experience in developing large scale renewable energy projects. Ideally experience managing projects from owners perspective.
- Proactively manage risks
- PSSE and PSCAD experience
- Tertiary qualification would be preferred.
- High level of interpersonal, problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
