You will complete a Certificate III in Parks & Gardens qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and host employer, Summit Open Space Services.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
- Deliver top-notch lawn care services, including brush cutting, weeding, mowing, tree pruning, pesticide application, and basic grounds maintenance.
- Maintain the grounds of various institutions, such as university campuses, utility assets, government sites, and council properties.
- Operate hand and power tools, including lawn mowers, trimmers, pruners, slashers, chainsaws, and blower vacs.
- Support general maintenance activities, aligned with the skills, competence, and abilities of an apprentice.
What you'll bring to the table…
To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:
- Commitment to both on and off the job training
- Willingness to learn and assist with various groundskeeping tasks.
- Ability to use a range of lawn care equipment safely and effectively
- Physically fit and able to withstand the physical demands of the job
- Ability to undertake a medical including a drug and alcohol test
- Provisional Drivers Licence (P1 or above)
- White Card or willingness to obtain
