The Role
We are seeking a Group Accountant at our Torrensville support office on a Maternity Leave Contract for a 12 month period. The Group Accountant is responsible for ensuring automated systems, personnel and relationships are in place to deliver complete, accurate and timely financial information that meet legal and K&B Timber & Hardware requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide the business with the the highest financial and accounting standards and advice.
- Ensure all relevant taxation and legal requirements are being met.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of statutory and compliance reporting, including financial accounts and financial reports to stakeholders.
- Ensuring Finance and Administration maintain appropriate human resource strategies to facilitate achievement of the departmental goals and objectives and have the ability to support the overall group strategies.
- Maintain Balance sheet Items – through Working Papers Each Month.
- Maintain Fixed Assets Register and create Depreciation JNL each Month.
- Reconciliation and Tracking of Accruals and Prepayments.
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Financial Accounting or similar.
- CPA qualified (desirable).
- 5+ years' experience in an accounting role within a corporate environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels, both within the organisation and externally.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to step back and shape, or contribute to organisational strategy.
- Strong business and commercial acumen with a strong client focus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
