What we need:
The Group Accountant position is a multidisciplinary role that includes financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, cost accounting, and tax accounting. This is a role that requires a collaborative working style with the ability to influence key stakeholders. This is an exciting and challenging role with exposure to all levels of the business.
What you will do:
Oversee and assist with Accounting function across the Soulfresh Group
- Profit and Loss maintenance – Reviewing of the P&L, ensuring costs are coded correctly, and complete commentary and analysis v budget and forecast.
- GST – To manage, prepare and lodge the GST requirements for Soulfresh Group
- Other compliance – To assist and prepare in other compliance related lodgements directly related to APAC (eg. Payroll Tax, PAYG, Workers Comp)
- Year-end Tax and Audit – To assist with the yearly audit and tax lodgements for Australia
- Financial statements - Assist with the preparation of year end accounts including supporting schedules
- Budget – Assist with annual budget process
Leading and supporting month end close and reporting for Soulfresh Group
- Balance sheet reconciliation - To reconcile the APAC Balance sheet accounts at each month end and communicate to stakeholders on key issues/risks on a monthly basis.
- Promotions and Trading terms management – Ensuring a reliable process for data capturing and accruals process is in place for all promotions and Trading terms.
- Accruals – To manage the accruals process on a monthly basis for APAC.
- Management reporting pack - To assist in preparing and compiling management pack for the Leadership team.
- Forecast – To assist deriving and updating the monthly P&L forecast in conjunction with the Finance Manager and CFO.
Lead and support Payroll function in AU
- Oversee and manage the payroll inbox
- Maintain all employee payroll data across Australia
- Preparation of fortnightly pay runs in Australia
- Annual payroll reconciliations
Assist with monthly cost accounting
- Responsibility for inventory accuracy and the integrity of the balance sheet
- Reconcile and provide analysis on GRNI, landed costs and other stock related accounts on a monthly basis
- Report on monthly stock adjustments, purchase price variances and stock obsolescence
- Assist with the management and maintenance of the Standard Costs within NetSuite
- Assist with hedging FX to manage foreign currency exposure for international supply chain
What you will bring:
- CA or CPA qualified
- NetSuite experience preferred but not essential
- Experience in FMCG preferred but not essential
- Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
- Communication skills - whether it is on the phone, on email or on socials, communicating is your thing! You’re able to be the “voice” of the different brands, in an articulate and engaging manner across mediums
- Organisational skills – able to manage across multiple brands and mediums with competing timeframes and priorities
- Super Diligent – careful, thoughtful, and considered regarding the impacts your customer responses will have
- Problem solving Skills– doesn’t get scared by a challenge and can effectively work through issues
