Group Assistant Accountant

This role will be responsible for providing support in the financial accountant activities for the group

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic team at Brandbank.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for providing support in the financial accountant activities for the group for Seed Heritage, Unison, Commonry, allkinds, kikki.K & FINE-DAY (“Brandbank Group of Companies”).
Some Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preparation of management reports ensuring management accounts are prepared to a high standard.
• Assistance with the preparation of the BAS returns, payroll tax and Workcover across all brands.
• Assist with month-end procedures across multiple brands, including general ledger reconciliations of intercompany balances and recharges and stock clearing accounts
• Provide annual audit support including financial documentation for external audit partners.
• Focus on process improvement and creating efficiencies within the current processes in the accounting function
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders daily to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Other ad-hoc duties as required

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Demonstrable experience in a similar Assistant Accountant position.
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage projects and pay very close attention to detail
• Strong analytical skill set
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong organisational skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering outstanding results
• Working 5 days onsite in our St Kilda offices.
