Berry North is a family owned business that specialises in the production of blueberries. Our blueberry orchard is located near Dimbulah, Queensland.
About the role
This role is responsible for the management and implementation of our growing plan at our Dimbulah Orchard. This position is a hands-on, outdoor role focused on irrigation and nutrition management with the primary aim of achieving great blueberry production results!
Key responsibilities include:
- Irrigation operation, scheduling, monitoring and maintenance
- Operation of fertiliser mixing equipment and mixing of fertilizer ready for application
- Maintenance and repairs of irrigation lines and equipment
- Operation of irrigation computer control systems.
- Irrigation installation for new plantings
- General farm tasks to support farm operations as required including tractor operation, mowing, spraying and herbicide application
- Some supervision of casual team members will be required
- Work as part of the production team
To Be Successful in this Role
- Relevant qualification in Horticulture and a passion for plants
- Intermediate computer skills – Excel, Word
- Good problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
- Sound numeracy skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team
- Ability to work on some weekend
- A forklift ticket or a willingness to obtain a forklift ticket
