The Australian Industry Group’s Apprentice & Trainee Centre is a Group Training Organisation which is part of the Ai Group®, a peak national employer organization. Our Apprentice & Trainee Centre employs hundreds of apprentices across Australia and provides a range of vital support offerings around Apprenticeships and Traineeships to industries currently experiencing skills shortage issues.

We are seeking an experienced GTO Field Officer or as we like to call it an Employment & Training Consultant. You’d be reporting to the Lead Employment & Training Consultant and working closely with a small in-house team.
Whilst the reality of each day will be different, you can expect to be accountable for:
• Coaching and developing apprentices and trainees through their employment
• Providing management, monitoring and support to both the apprentice/trainee and host organisations by regular site visits
• Use your business development and networking skills to grow our number of host organisations to take on new apprentices and trainees
• Use your organisational skills to plan your weekly tasks including host site visits, new apprentice inductions and apprentice management in line with the business needs to meet your KPI’s
• Use and update the workforce management system to keep a record of your interactions with hosts and apprentices/trainees.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed, including WHS, online training, and inductions for apprentices and trainees
To best succeed in this role you will have;
• Demonstrated experience with businesses and industry sectors
• Previous experience in the Vocational Education and Training sector and/or a trade qualification would be highly advantageous
• Knowledge, understanding and commitment to WH&S and EEO laws and legislation
• Awareness of various Industry Awards with respect to coverage, wage rates and allowances
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring skills
• Self-direction & ability to demonstrate initiative and make sound decisions
• Effective planning, organisational & workload prioritisation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to represent the organisation to external agencies and communicate internally
