AddressBrisbane School of Distance Education is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Guidance Officer to join the team (temporary part-time 0.6FTE) from 8th July to 13th December 2024, unless otherwise determined.
The Guidance Officer works with the primary school, supporting teachers, students and families to identify barriers to learning and engagement at school. Brisbane School of Distance Education has a team of six Guidance Officers who work collaboratively to support students to achieve quality educational outcomes.

About the Role
As the Guidance Officer you will:
- Engage with parents, school personnel and support services to enhance students' learning. Assessment, counselling and social emotional support are major aspects of this role.
- provide professional expertise, leadership and support in the development and implementation of plans, programs, and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes.
- Collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative, protective and early intervention strategies and which are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.
