About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to assist in the delivery of the Handpicked Experience within our Urban Cellar Door environment through the efficient co-ordination and promotion of all events and functions both internally and externally. - Event management
- Assist in the development of proposals and policies on hosting events at the cellar door and externally
- Work in conjunction with the Cellar Door Operations Manager to develop accounts, educational events and other cellar door activities relating to the business/office market
- Implement strategies to increase event bookings, special occasion engagement and the perception of cellar door as a venue of choice
- Liaise with food service provider and any other suppliers
- Manage event staff and preparation of event rosters
- Cellar Door
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and ambience of the cellar door and surrounds
- Ensure cycle of service as a Cellar Door Crew Member
- Create and maintain cellar door engagement and strengthen a unique cellar door experience for the customer
- Facilitate and conduct wine tasting events for customer with up-to-date knowledge of company and competitor wine products
- Represent the company at cellar door, events, workshops and in collaboration within the local businesses and community
- Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through providing exceptional customer service
- Work with the Marketing department to ensure cellar door promotional activity, event promotion and public relations are in place to achieve Sales and brand positioning targets
- Develop objectives, strategies and tactics and document into a plan on a half yearly basis
- Initiate and co-ordinate special projects and trials that lead to business improvement
- General Duties
- Deal with general cellar door and event correspondence and phone and email enquiries
- Event Inventory management/stock control in conjunction with Supervisor and Cellar Door Manager
- Assist in the maintenance of the cellar door procedure and policy documents
- Promote healthy attitudes and safe work practices
Skills and Experience required
- Hospitality and Event management background with a passion and knowledge of wines and wine production
- A team player who enjoys a fast paced hospitality environment with significant changes anticipated as the Handpicked Experience concept rolls out
- Motivated by meeting challenging sales target and energised by being part of a ground breaking concept
- Commitment to excellence and the highest standards in customer service and Sales and presentation
- Able to lead and motivate the sales team through a hands on approach and positive attitude
- High level communication and interpersonal skills
- Have strong problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
- Relevant qualifications in wine, sales, hospitality and/or event management
