We are looking for a Head Chef and a second chef for a busy family run restaurant with a fully equipped kitchen Located in Katoomba. Hatter’s café has been operating for more than 16 years and under a new management.
We currently looking for hardworking and dedicated chefs to join our team with Head Chef/Sous Chef experience in working in a team environment. Positions will offer Salary between $70,000 - $90,000 a year based on experience.
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Skills in preparing different variety of cuisine.
- Skilled in preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to recipes.
- Plan Refresh menus 2-3 times per year, estimate food and labour costs.
- Food and ingredient stock management and ordering supplies.
- Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Train and manage junior cooks and kitchen staff.
- Achieving all safety, hygiene, and food quality
To be considered for the position you must possess the following:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery
- Ability to cope with 70+ covers per service.
- Proactive, energetic and shares a passion for the hospitality industry.
- Possess effective communication skills with an approachable manner.
