Marco Polo Kitchen is a corporate café and catering business based in Brisbane’s financial district. Located inside The No 1 Anzac Building we have 2 cafes and a modern air-conditioned production kitchen which hosts our BUSY corporate catering business. Our operation hours are Monday - Friday daytime hours only, with our current Head Chef working roughly 5 am - 1 pm flexible hours. No weekend or night work is required.
Who Are You?
We are seeking a switched-on, passionate, and experienced chef to manage the operation of our busy kitchen and catering business. You should possess a passion for salads and deli-style sandwiches. You need to have developed leadership skills, and the ability to develop and refine efficient processes while delivering consistently high-quality food. Some of the key things we’re looking for include reliability, positivity, an ability to self-motivate and keep others motivated, and a love for the industry.
Other requirements include:
You will hold Certificate III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery (essential) or higher and have at least 2 – 3 years’ experience.
Current HACCP and relevant Food Safety accreditation.
High cooking standards with an attention to detail
High level of interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Good work ethic including the ability to work under pressure
Ability to maintain service and kitchen compliance standards
Strong ability to work autonomously amongst a fast-paced environment
Rostering, ordering, and cost controls
Positive and calm attitude with the ability to lead the kitchen and team
The Menu
Marco Polo will be serving up ready-made meals, salads, and baked goods. There’s room for creative flair in this busy kitchen and we are seeking the right leader for the business
