Head Chef - Dido - Broome

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Head Chef to work an amazing work/life balance 5&2, 4&3 roster, Drive-In-Drive-Out from Broome or Derby.  Imagine getting the opportunity to live and work in the tropical West Kimberley, with the benefits of an extra day off each fortnight.

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to join our Resources Catering Team on a Drive-In-Drive-Out (DIDO) basis, from Broome or Derby to our Village located mid-way between Broome and Derby, in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia.

• Working 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off Roster, DIDO from Broome or Derby.
• Competitive Salary of $115,000 + Superannuation & Local Living Retention Bonuses.

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all safety and quality processes are followed and exceed customer expectations in regard to a healthy and delicious food offering, whilst being in line with contractual requirements. 

What we are looking for:

• Australian Trade Certification or Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery (essential).
• Experience as a Head Chef in a commercial kitchen (essential).
• Excellent customer service.
• High volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience.
• Experience in a mining village operation preferred but all professional kitchen experience considered.
• Ability to work to client expectations.
• Experience driving a safe and productive work culture.
• Creative periodical menu planning and implementation.
• Training a development of existing kitchen staff.
• Strong food safety and HACCP knowledge.
• Able to work a flexible roster.
• Current Police Clearance or willing to obtain one.
