**Position: Japanese Cuisine Head Chef**
---Pay: $75,000 per year
**Responsibilities:**
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations to ensure the delivery of top-quality food and an exceptional dining experience. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a keen eye for detail. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Menu Development: Collaborate with the management team to create seasonal menus that reflect culinary trends, meet customer preferences, and adhere to budgetary requirements. Also ordering food from our suppliers.
2.Kitchen Management: Efficiently manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, staffing, and inventory management. Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff.
3.Preparing and cooking food, freeze and preserve food.
4.Staff Supervision and training: Lead and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback to maintain high standards of performance and professionalism.
5.Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to established recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
6.Food Safety and Hygiene: Enforce strict adherence to food safety standards, HACCP guidelines, and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
7.Cost Management: Monitor food costs, waste levels, and kitchen expenses to optimize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
8.Vendor Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of fresh and high-quality ingredients.
9.Creativity and Innovation: Bring creativity and innovation to the kitchen by experimenting with new ingredients, techniques, and flavor combinations to enhance the menu offerings.
10.Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including workplace health and safety standards, fire safety regulations, and food handling procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven minimum 3 years of experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant environment.
- Culinary degree Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- A passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Current food safety certification and knowledge of HACCP principles.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
