We offer our customers an array of robust and flexible logistics and warehouse distribution solutions in the third-party logistics (3PL) market.The Role -We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Operations Manager – Beverages to be based in Richlands QLD.As the Senior Operations Manager you will oversee the day to day running of this 24-7, $20M - $80M operation. Your remit is to achieve service excellence within established timeframes and cost guidelines and hold overall responsibility for Branch EBIT, Cost control, new business opportunities and site safety.This is a role where leadership, customer excellence and operational efficiency all come together, and you will need to drive high standards whilst ensuring the site is being run safely and efficiently. With 14 direct reports, you will have demonstrable experience managing operations, leading people, being the customer touch point, running P&L and cost management reviews and always leading from the front with a safety obsessed focus.Primary Responsibilities and Decisions -Managing the transport operation within agreed contractual parameters to deliver quality best in class service.Maintain and grow the profitability of the Business Unit by controlling day to day operating costs and maximising revenue through development of improved efficiencies.Complete the weekly profit & loss statement; identify errors and/or abnormal/unacceptable cost or significant variations from budget, and direct/initiate remedial action.Regularly overview customer(s) contract performance and forecast against initial budgets, and devise strategies to improve performance.Ensure all instances of service failure, loss or damage to goods are investigated, and develop and instigate remedial action to prevent recurrence. In the event of serious damage, loss or theft, notify the customer and State Manager immediately (providing both written and verbal reports).Develop and maintain a professional and motivated employee team by conducting weekly communication and regular counselling activities and applying effective team building and leadership techniques.What you’ll need to succeed –Understanding of distribution/route scheduling and a sound knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, costing, tendering and cost analysis.Detailed knowledge of Logistics services and operations procedures.Sound warehousing and distribution experience and skills with an ability to identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service problems.Ability to identify potential workplace issues (operational, systems/processes, personnel) and report them to the relevant channels for investigation (where required) and resolution.Qualifications – Education and/or professionalTertiary qualification or proven experience in Logistics Management or Business or related discipline preferred.Leadership Attributes – Strategy and Capability, Growth and Innovation, Operational Excellence, Maximising Profitability.What moves you?At Toll, you can help play a vital role in delivering what matters.
