○ Ensure that the category management team are conducting thorough market research and analysis to proactively identify emerging trends, consumer preferences and competitive landscapes within the category to inform strategy development.
○ Lead the team to ensure that data driven insights are being used to inform decisions in their respective categories.● Pricing, Promotion and Performance
○ Engage with product marketing teams to execute strategy to drive category growth, and align category strategies with market trends and Montu’s strategic goals.
○ Engage with sales teams to test, survey and activate prescribers and health care practitioners.
○ Monitor category performance against OKRs and financial targets.
○ Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise category performance.
○ Drive cross functional collaboration to ensure optimisation of product and category assortments, alignment with customer needs, market demands, and a seamless integration and execution of Category and brand strategies.
○ Ensure categories are regularly reviewed by the category team based on sales performance, customer feedback, research and industry trends.
○ Drive operational efficiencies, high value outcomes and sustainable performance of the categories.
○ Ensure that data driven insights are used to formulate and implement effective pricing strategies and recommendations.
○ Drive effective collaboration of the category and marketing teams, to maximise brand awareness through promotional campaigns and category engagement.● Product Lifecycle Management
○ Work with the category team to drive optimal SKU assortment and management of the product lifecycle and ensure alignment with consumer preferences and market demands. ○ Ensure the product assortments within each category is curated and managed to maximise category engagement.
○ Drive the optimisation of inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock availability while minimising excess inventory.
○ Manage working capital effectively.
○ Ensure the framework for brand identity is enhanced to ensure consistency across channels and touchpoints.
○ Ensure strategies are implemented to strengthen category positioning in the market and Montu’s network.● Quality Assurance and Compliance
○ Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges within the category, such as supply chain disruptions, market fluctuations, cluster risk, and regulatory changes.
○ Foster and ensure a culture of data driven, continuous quality improvement.
○ Develop contingency plans and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted category, supply, and customer or patient operations.● Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
○ Deliver on individual and set departmental OKRs and KPIs as determined.Qualifications● Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
● Demonstrated experience in a similar role, leading a high performing team.
● Leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of leading, mentoring and developing high performing teams.
● Demonstrated success in expanding product categories in greenfield and growth oriented environments or industries.
● Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies that drove growth and profitability.
● Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies.
● Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
