This work strives for consistent implementation of curriculum, pedagogy and programs across all levels of schooling. The department's Instrumental Music and Primary Schools Music Festival Programs are part of the Curriculum Programs Directorate.Music Programs is an integral part of the department's education program for South Australian schools and contributes to its vision of a high performing system which improves the educational attainment and wellbeing of South Australia's children and young people. The department supports Music Programs through policy development, curriculum initiatives, professional development opportunities, resources, and the statewide Instrumental and Music Festival programs.The Manager Music Programs is required to:
- Provide high level and strategic, planning and leadership for the development and implementation of state-wide Australian Curriculum – The Arts (Music) programs, initiatives, and services across Department for Education Schools, including Music Focus Schools that significantly contributes to the achievement of the department’s strategic objectives.
- Deliver specialist leadership and management of the department’s music education services (including instrumental music) through the development and implementation of quality improvement of Music Programs and teaching standards, and the prudent management of financial and human resources.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships in music education with other Government departments, community groups and non-government organizations.
- Provide specialist knowledge of corporate and school based human resource management and processes and complex industrial relations matters.
