About the roleOur new
Head of Corporate Governance will report directly into the General Counsel here at V/line. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing trusted advice, as well as strategic support for
Corporate Governance, governance transactions and other related matters.The
Head of Corporate Governance will assist with preparation of strategy sessions and advise on governance related matters for Advisory Boad, Audit and Risk Committee, Executive Management Committee and Procurement Oversight Committee.
Key Accountabilities include:- Provide guidance to the business on Corporate Governance, governance transactions and other related matters
- Advising on compliance with all relevant Acts, legal/regulatory requirements and ethical standards
- Overseeing Advisory Board, Audit and Risk Committee, as well as Procurement Oversight Committee
- Foster and maintain effective partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders
- Preparation of strategy sessions for Advisory Board, Audit and Risk Committee, Procurement Oversight Committee
- Point of contact for Advisory Board, Audit and Risk Committee and Procurement Oversight Committee members
About you- Demonstrated experience working in Legal positions, within Government environments (Rail/Transport highly preferred)
- Proven communication skills and ability to foster meaningful relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Experience working with Board or Committee, taking minutes and assisting with Board or Committee papers
- Must possess legal practicing certificate and law degree
- Ability to work effectively in complex, fast-paced environments
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements (highly desirable)
