Bundaberg North State High School is looking for Head of Department - Curriculum to join our leadership team. This is a temporary full-time position until 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined. We are a school of 680 students situated on the northside of Bundaberg who work with students to prepare them for their future whether that is further study, a trade or employment.
The successful applicant will have working knowledge of two of the following learning areas / faculties: Humanities, The Arts, LOTE, Industrial Technology and Design and or Information Technology. We are looking for a team member who is able to work across their two faculties ensuring consistent, quality education whilst also demonstrating people skills to build effective relationships with students and staff as well as parents and carers.

Bundaberg North State High School is the only High School situated on the north side of the Burnett River in Bundaberg. We have a current enrolment of approximately 700 students. About the Role:
As a member of our Leadership Team, the successful candidate will play an integral role in both the curriculum delivery of their two faculties and the management of year 10 students as a member of that sector team.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.
