The position will focus on building on the knowledge and capability of school leaders and educators in educational program and practice (across the areas of the National Quality Standards with a stronger focus on Quality Area One) to support learners in kindergarten, including those in composite class settings.

About the Location:
The North Queensland Region covers schools from Proserpine to Ingham and out west to Mount Isa.
About the Role:
The Head of Department (Early Years) will work with the Senior Advisor (State Delivered Kindergarten) to provide contextualised support to build capability of the school leaders and teaching staff to ensure children attending kindergarten in State Schools have high quality learning experiences.
The successful applicant would be required to travel to rural and remote areas to support schools with State Delivered Kindergartens and should possess an early childhood teaching qualification and demonstrate an understanding of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and Age Appropriate Pedagogies.
As the Head of Department (Early Years) you will;
- Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives,
- Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division,
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
