Role Summary:
The Head of Finance works closely with Senior Management to enhance CSB’s efficiency and profitability through timely, effective decision-making. This role assesses major projects and initiatives for investment suitability, providing essential information to leadership through modelling and research.
Key responsibilities include transforming company strategy into a long-range plan with annual departmental budgets, setting performance targets to meet CSB’s commercial objectives, and providing a clear annual budget for the team. The Head of Finance collaborates with various departments to identify opportunities for efficiency, savings, and investment, maintaining and mitigating additional costs.
Effective communication and collaboration across all departments are crucial, as is the ability to understand their priorities and goals. The role requires building in-depth knowledge of CSB and its processes, transforming data into comprehensible reports, and possessing strong problem-solving skills to manage data consolidation and reconciliation challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement systems, policies and procedures for the Finance function which will improve financial monitoring, accountability and growth
- Driving and overseeing the month end reporting process
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet & Profit and Loss Statements
- Reviewing budgets to actuals and providing commentary around variances
- Liaise with External Accountants and Tax Accountants regarding Statutory Account Preparation
- Preparing and monitoring Annual Budgets
- Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluating new and existing projects, investments, and assets to determine their validity and appraise their value.
- Creating financial models and using them to recommend investment, expansion, cost-cutting ideas or revenue growth streams
- Analyse the trends of key performance indicators (KPIs), relating to the major business objectives such as Active Customers, Purchase Frequency and CLTV.
- Corporate Entity Analysis: Evaluate the financial and tax implications of various corporate entity structures, recommending optimal configurations to support business objectives and maximise efficiency.
- Tax Efficiency Planning: Collaborate with the tax department to structure corporate entities in a manner that optimises tax positions both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
- CPA or CFA certification
- 5+ years relevant analytical experience
- Demonstrated experience leading/managing/building Finance teams
- Strong financial reporting and tax experience
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to identify trends, opportunities and innovative ways to build businesses
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Knowledge of ecommerce businesses, retail and fitness industry is a benefit.
- Significant analytical skillset, including the utilisation of BI and reporting tools
- Able to solve complex problems
