PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Head of Finance Systems plays a pivotal role in overseeing the optimization of Finance Systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department. This position is responsible for leading a team to manage the Finance Systems landscape, identify opportunities for process enhancement, and implement solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in financial operations.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Head of Finance Systems works within the defined procedures of the Finance team to provide the following:
1. Manage the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Finance Systems.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into system enhancements and process improvements.
3. Lead the implementation of system upgrades, patches, and integrations, ensuring minimal disruption to finance operations and maximizing the benefits of technology investments.
4. Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures related to Finance Systems, data governance, and internal controls.
5. Identify opportunities for automation within finance processes, leveraging technology solutions to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance data accuracy.
6. Lead a small team to deliver process improvement initiatives within the finance department.
7. Conduct regular assessments of Finance processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions to address gaps or inefficiencies.
8. Collaborate with finance leadership to create and develop solutions with both technical and business acumen.
9. Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in Finance Systems, process improvement methodologies, and technology innovations, applying relevant knowledge to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Assess the effectiveness of software systems functions, research and test new features and functions, and provide recommendations.
11. Streamline the business planning and forecasting processes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Solid experience in Finance Systems management, including analyzing business requirements and developing efficient solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex finance processes, identify root causes of issues, and develop effective solutions.
- Knowledge of Finance-related technology solutions, including financial reporting tools, data analytics platforms, and cloud-based Finance Systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Preferred:
- Specific experience in the Banking, Finance & Insurance or Technology industry.
- Understanding and knowledge of current and emerging regulatory, commercial, technology, and operational trends.
