Network Research (the Research & Innovation Division of the Essential Flavours Group) is seeking a Flavour Creations Manager (Food Technologist) to lead the Flavour Creations Team in the development of Flavours and innovation of products.
The key responsibilities for the role include:
- Flavour development - creating new flavours, as well as matching, substituting and modifying raw materials (understanding the chemical reactions) to create complimentary flavours required by the client.
- Leadership and management - Aligning with company objectives and steer the team toward productivity and organic growth
- Mentoring & coaching to develop the team in delivering products and services and help build the team's technical skills.
- Technical support - provide the necessary technical support to the Flavour Creations team in testing the products flavour, taste, mouth feel and nutritional content. Provide advice on packaging, storing and delivery of flavour products.
Qualifications and key attributes to a complimentary fit for this role:
- Diploma or Bachelor of Science – Food Chemistry, Chemistry, Food Science, Food Science and Technology or other similar qualification
- 10+ years’ experience as a Flavourist, with extensive exposure to sweet flavour creation and experience in leading a flavour creations team
- Experience in developing a wide range of flavour profiles
- Experience in developing spray dry flavours
- Knowledge in using alternative raw materials
- Leadership skills - ability to coach and develop others
- Mentoring skills - share knowledge and mentor Trainee and Junior Flavourists
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks to meet customer briefs
- Think outside the box to solve problems and develop innovative solutions
- Analytical skills and people skills to work effectively in a team
