Who are we? 

FoodByUs is an online ordering platform which helps restaurants manage their wholesale procurement function. Founded in 2016 by some of the team behind Menulog, the company operates in Australia and has seen extensive growth in recent years.

About the role.

Our Sydney Head office is looking for a Head of Operations to join our team, as we begin our growth plans for 2024. 

The Head of Operations will operate as a senior strategic partner (2iC) to our CEO and plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the organisation by overseeing and optimising commercial activities.  This key leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in commercial operations, operational leadership and cross functional collaboration. 

Key  Responsibilities

Operational Strategy and Planning:

• Collaborate with the CEO & executive team to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with the CEO on new commercial initiatives eg staff requirements, new markets entry, new revenue streams
• You will play an integral role ensuring that the FoodByUs CEO is across all major decisions and communicates  these effectively and efficiently with our cohorts. 

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing operations team - (with the assistance of 1 x ‘Head of’) 
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Coordinate and align efforts across departments to maximise organisational efficiency.

Project Management:

• Oversee and coordinate special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CEO.
• Develop project plans, set timelines, and track milestones to ensure successful completion.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing/ Sales/ Tech & Business Support)  to achieve project objectives

Reporting and Analytics

• Working with our in house Data Analyst, utilise data analytics to assess performance, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
• Board reporting; Financial performance/ Strategic initiatives/ Operations/ Risk management./ KPI’s and Commercial activities. 
• Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success and efficiency of operational processes.

What are we looking for: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience in a senior commercial operations, leadership or managerial role.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving abilities - (experience in Tableau, Power-BI or related, highly desirable)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of - Zendesk/ HubSpot/ Google Suite & Slack. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment - previous experience in a tech startup/ software company.
