You'll be responsible for:
- Our Customer & Operations Line 1 Risk function are current seeking a Head of Risk & Compliance on a six-month secondment basis, commencing in February 2024.
- Leading a team of Risk, compliance and quality assurance specialists you will be a trusted advisor to the Claims and Workplace leadership teams, providing proactive consultative advice, review and challenge in respect to the Division's approach to managing risk.
- Exemplifying our values and robust leadership, you will manage a team of 12 specialists (4 direct reports), demonstrating people leadership including developing Risk and Compliance capability and capacity appropriate to divisional needs.
- Apply subject matter expertise, provide advice and engage cross-functional networks where necessary to support the successful resolution of complex or high impact risks to AAL.
- Support the Division in complying with the organisation's Risk and Compliance management framework, in identifying and managing risks and in promoting and strengthening the risk culture of the Division and the enterprise.
- Extensive Risk and Compliance management experience for a complex, matrixed financial services (corporate) organisation. Minimum 10 years demonstrated financial services Risk and Compliance experience in either a Line 1, Line 2 or Line 3 role.
- Demonstrated technical understanding of effective controls and how to assess and evidence design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Demonstrated evidence of successfully leading and delivering projects within time, budget and resource constraints and sustaining outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes, leveraging excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence, positively influencing risk behaviours throughout AAL.
- Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity and provide pragmatic commercial solutions to meet stakeholder expectations. Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
