The Registered Nurse provides mental health nursing treatment to young people presenting to headspace services in Darwin & Palmerston. You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support the physical and sexual health needs of young people across all headspace programs. You will provide person centered, youth friendly services that facilitates a culture emphasising family involvement. Your role as Registered Nurse will play an important role in a range of interventions to support young people which include Physical & Sexual health screenings, education, metabolic screening and monitoring and administration of depot injections in a dedicated clinic space.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Qualifications as a Registered Nurse and hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia., and current unrestricted practicing certificate.
- A proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with young people.
- Prior (minimum 3 years) experience working within relevant mental health setting or providing physical and sexual health care.
- Prior experience or, at a minimum, demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse clients, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations.
Please note this is a part time position - 3 days per week.
Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s license.
